Dear friends and colleagues apk olymp trade of Joy Dewing Casting, I have some THRILLING news to share!
August 21, 2017, I joined the Disney Talent Casting & Booking Team in Anaheim, CA. If you know me AT ALL, you know that I am a Disney superfan and this has been a classic fairytale dream come true for me.

As with all dreams come true, there is a taste of bitter along with the sweet. I am so sad to leave behind New York City, my friends and family in the area, and our beloved community in Maplewood, where we have set down such happy roots. And of course, I will have to say goodbye to Joy Dewing Casting, in which I have invested so many years of hard work, faith, sweat, and more than a few tears. My clients will be in GREAT hands and my staff will no doubt be quickly snatched up by other offices who will be eager — and fortunate — to have some of the best & brightest in the industry on their team.

This was not an easy decision to make and I do not undertake it lightly. I have personally overseen the transition of all active projects and am thrilled to announce the following project re-assignments, effective August 17, 2017:

My last day in the office and in session will be Wednesday, August 16. It breaks my heart just a little to have to say farewell to Joy Dewing Casting, to these incredibly talented & dedicated creative teams, to my staff, and to everyone who has supported us and helped us grow & thrive over the years. But this business of show operates in a very Small World and I have a feeling we will meet again, somewhere.

To my clients and creative teams: Thank you for your faith in me, for trusting me with your work, for inspiring and challenging me, and for inviting me to be such an integral part of your creative process. Thanks ESPECIALLY to Steve Gabriel and Randy Buck, who have been my most loyal clients, champions, and friends. It has been an honor and a privilege to work with all of you.

To my assistants, associates, monitors, accompanists, readers, and staff members who have supported me over the years: You helped build my dream. You were a part of something unique and special, something that could not have been built without your contribution. As Craig Carnelia wrote, “Everyone should have something to point to, something to be proud of”; and you should be proud of what we did, together.

To the actors I’ve worked with in and out of the audition room over the past twelve years: Thank you for bringing your heart and your passion into the room. Thank you for your trust in me, thank you for working so hard to dig deeper and challenge yourself, and thank you for saying YES. I recognize that yours is not an easy nor linear journey, and I have endeavored to build a safe space for you in which you could feel welcome and free to take risks and do your best work. I know I have not always met that goal as much as I would have liked, but please know how much I admire and respect you for everything you contribute to our shared success. The best part of my job has been watching you grow and become successful human beings and artists. As I transition into the next phase of my career as a Casting Director, I hope you will continue to keep in touch and think of me as a friend and ally to ALL actors, no matter your age, shape, size, background, race, color, gender, creed, ability, or “type” (whatever that is!!). Know that I will continue to fight for inclusion and representation in all forms of entertainment.

"Yes, you wish and you dream with all your little heart. But you remember, Tiana, that old star can only take you part of the way. You got to help him with some hard work of your own. And then... Yeah, you can do anything you set you mind to.”

I am so fortunate to have spent the past year-and-a-half (and then some!) working alongside and learning from Joy. Her passion for actors and for the theatre is infectious, and I am excited to carry that same passion with me as I continue forward in casting. I am excited to announce that I am now Casting Associate at Wojick/Seay Casting. Anyone looking to get in touch with me, can reach me at the address below.

I know I am not alone when I wish Joy the best of luck in her new and exciting venture! I look forward to seeing all of you in the audition room again soon.
